Day by day
This is the planned route structure. Accommodation, activities and timing are confirmed for your travel dates in the final proposal.
Day 1
Settle into a lodge outside the city and ease into the journey with an unhurried first afternoon. Arrival arrangements and the briefing schedule follow your confirmed flight times.
Overnight
River Crossing Lodge
Day 2
Collect your equipped 4x4, complete the handover and travel north to Etosha. Set up camp at Okaukuejo; time permitting, enjoy a first wildlife drive or visit the camp waterhole.
Overnight
Okaukuejo campsite
Day 3
Explore the park’s waterhole network at your own pace. Allow time to wait, watch and follow the day’s conditions rather than rush between sightings. Return to the same campsite for a second night.
Overnight
Okaukuejo campsite
Day 4
Travel through western Etosha and continue to Hobatere, exchanging your campsite for a lodge stay before the journey turns north toward Kaokoland.
Overnight
Hobatere Lodge
Day 5
Continue to Opuwo and meet your Namvic guide. Review the remote route, prepare the vehicles and supplies, and enjoy a lodge evening before the guided convoy begins.
Overnight
Opuwo Country Lodge
Day 6
Depart Opuwo behind the Namvic lead vehicle and travel toward Marble Community Campsite. The scenery becomes more remote and progress depends increasingly on track conditions. Safe travel takes priority over a fixed arrival time.
Overnight
Marble Community Campsite
Day 7
Continue through rugged north-western terrain toward Marienfluss. Open valley landscapes and mountain horizons lead toward a campsite near the Kunene River.
Overnight
Camp Syncro
Day 8
Explore the stark landscapes of Hartmann Valley with your guide. The precise route and overnight location depend on permission, safe access and current conditions.
Overnight
Authorised wilderness camp
Day 9
Travel through changing desert scenery toward Purros. Dry valleys, rocky hills and remote tracks make this a demanding but memorable stage. Desert-adapted wildlife may be encountered, although sightings are never guaranteed.
Overnight
Purros Canyon Camp
Day 10
Continue into the Hoanib landscape, where ephemeral river corridors support vegetation and wildlife in arid country. Your guide selects the route and camp according to local access, environmental conditions and safety.
Overnight
Authorised wilderness camp
Day 11
A second night gives the journey breathing room. Explore with your guide, responding to conditions and wildlife information while keeping a respectful distance from animals.
Overnight
Authorised wilderness camp
Day 12
Leave the remote section and continue to Palmwag. The guided convoy ends on arrival. Settle into lodge accommodation after the camping stages.
Overnight
Palmwag Lodge
Day 13
Resume independent self-drive toward Brandberg. Enjoy the changing Damaraland scenery and a relaxed lodge stop before continuing south.
Overnight
Ondjamba Hills
Day 14
Travel to Spitzkoppe’s granite peaks. Depending on arrival time and local access rules, enjoy short walks, photography and the evening light before settling into your campsite.
Overnight
Spitzkoppe Community Restcamp
Day 15
Leave the granite peaks for the Atlantic coast. This two-night coastal break avoids a direct Spitzkoppe-to-Sesriem transfer and provides time to rest and restock before continuing into the Namib.
Overnight
Swakopmund guesthouse or hotel selected for your dates
Day 16
Enjoy a full day based in Swakopmund. A dolphin cruise and Sandwich Harbour combination can be arranged from Walvis Bay, subject to availability and conditions, or spend a relaxed day exploring town and the waterfront.
Overnight
Same Swakopmund guesthouse or hotel
Day 17
Continue south through the Namib toward Sesriem. Allow a full travel day with sensible breaks and a daylight arrival, then prepare for the dune excursion the next morning.
Overnight
Oshana Campsite
Day 18
Explore Sossusvlei and Deadvlei early, according to the applicable gate times and conditions. Choose dune walks to suit the weather and your energy, with Sesriem Canyon possible if time allows.
Overnight
Oshana Campsite
Day 19
Drive back to Windhoek for vehicle return and onward arrangements. A same-day flight is suitable only if the driving time, vehicle return during operating hours and airport check-in margin can all be accommodated safely; otherwise add a final Windhoek night.
